About Parsons Housing Authority

The City of Parsons Housing Authority was created November 6, 1967. The governing structure was a Housing Commission of five members appointed by the Mayor of Parsons.

The governing structure is a Housing Board compiled of five board members appointed by the city commission. The Housing Board meets on the second Monday of each month at the Belmont Towers Community Room at 5:00 p.m.

The Authority manages and operates 132 households consisting of 120 Public Housing units and 12 Tax Credit Properties and a Homeownership Program.

Day-to-day operations are managed by the Executive Director who is responsible for the administration of all Housing Programs, Property management, Capital improvement, Resident Services, and Maintenance. The City of Parsons Housing Authority currently employs six staff.

The mission of the City of Parsons Housing Authority is: To make quality, affordable housing a viable option for low to moderate income families, elderly and disabled persons, while promoting personal growth and community responsibility.
